The application will be posted on the website on March 15, 2008.

Are students accepted on a first-come, first-served basis?

Frequently Asked Questions for Host Campuses

Must prospective students satisfy all requirements for admission listed in the CFP?
The criterion for admission that should carry the greatest weight is the recommendation from teachers. The teachers’ recommendations shed perspective on the GPA to give the reviewer the most comprehensive picture of past and future school performance. Some students entering the sixth grade may not have had separate classes for science and math, in which case the recommendation from the teacher who is responsible for science and math may submit the recommendation for these subjects. As part of the application, students are asked to tell why they are interested in attending the BHSSC. Frequently what they write this can be extremely helpful in the selection process.

Are students from parochial schools eligible to participate?
Students from any accredited public, private, or parochial elementary or middle school may apply for admission to participate in the Summer Science Camps.

What type of outside or external sources can be engaged to support the camps?
Some communities may have access to former astronauts, current and former NASA employees, other complementary programs, and a wide range of resources that can be integrated into or otherwise support the camps.
